FEATURED PROJECT · CUSTOM GPT

Meet Solomon.
A thinking partner for business.

A custom GPT I created to help business owners clarify their goals, challenge assumptions, and think through a decision before acting.

THE BUSINESS PROBLEM

Plenty of ideas.
A decision to make.

As an entrepreneur, I had plenty of ideas competing for limited time and resources. I created Solomon to help me slow down, gather context, and decide which idea deserved attention.

I gave this custom GPT a focused role: ask before advising, challenge assumptions, and leave the decision with the person. I demonstrated the project in my AI Consultant Certification presentation.

The demonstration uses a concrete question: “Should I pay for a new marketing tool right now?” The presentation includes a live comparison exercise. The worked example below explains the approach with an explicitly illustrative exchange.

A COMPLETE WORKED EXAMPLE

One question.
A clearer next step.

Illustrative walkthrough based on the presentation’s scenario. These responses were written to explain the approach; they are not a transcript, a live AI result, or a client outcome.

“Should I pay for a new marketing tool right now?”

A service business owner wants more consulting clients. The tool costs $99 per month, the budget is tight, and the purchase needs to justify its cost.

AN IMMEDIATE ANSWER

“It could be worth trying if it helps you reach more prospects. Compare its features and use a trial before committing.”

Useful as a starting point, but it leaves the business bottleneck unexamined.

A CONTEXT-FIRST APPROACH

Ask before advising.

  1. Is the bottleneck finding prospects, following up, or converting conversations?
  2. What can your existing tools already do?
  3. Who will use the new tool, and how much time can they give it?
  4. What evidence would make the purchase worthwhile?

ADD CONTEXT. CHOOSE AN ACTION.

For this illustration, suppose the owner says: We already have interested prospects, but follow-up is inconsistent. Our current system can track reminders, and we have not used that feature.

A useful next step

Start with a consistent follow-up process in the existing system. Record the effort and completed follow-ups, then review whether a real gap remains before considering another subscription.

The next step becomes a testable business action. The owner still decides whether to buy.

This example demonstrates a way to structure a decision. It does not establish that one AI tool always performs better than another.

THE APPROACH IN PRACTICE

A clear role.
A more thoughtful process.

01 / DESIGN

Give AI a focused job.

Define the role and instructions around the decision the person needs to make.

02 / DEMONSTRATE

Make the thinking visible.

Use a concrete business question to explain how context can change the next step.

03 / TEACH

Keep judgment with people.

Pause, ask, think, and proceed. The person reviews the options and owns the decision.

Keep the question, walkthrough, and takeaway together in a short project preview.
